Principal’s Message

It is with great joy and humility that I welcome you to our school, a vibrant community guided by the values of Gospel teachings. At St Luke’s, we believe in the power of peace to transform individuals and communities, shaping us into compassionate and empathetic individuals.

With the Parish and school nearing its Diamond Jubilee celebrations (75 Years), St Luke’s has been a trusted choice for quality and caring education for families of Milperra, Revesby and Revesby Heights.

Central to our ethos is the charism of Mary of the Cross MacKillop, who dedicated her life to providing education to all, especially the marginalized. Her spirit of inclusivity and compassion resonates deeply within our school community, guiding us in our commitment to invitation, welcome, sharing our stories, and nurturing a sense of belonging.

Our school motto, ‘peace’, encapsulates the essence of our mission. Inspired by Gospel values, we strive to emulate the compassion, forgiveness, and love that Jesus Christ exemplified. This foundation forms the basis of our interactions with each other, fostering a culture of respect, kindness, and understanding. Aligning with our School Wide Positive Behaviours for Learning mindset, we connect with each other by Being Responsible, Being Respectful and Being Safe.

Our dedicated teachers play a pivotal role in our students’ lives, developing authentic relationships that enable them to identify the unique learning journey of each child. By living our faith daily, we aim to instil in our students a love for learning that extends far beyond the classroom, creating lifelong learners who are eager to explore, discover, and grow.

Together, we are committed to building authentic relationships, rooted in love and mutual respect, that enrich the lives of all who walk through our doors. I invite you to join us on this journey of faith, learning, and community, as we strive to make a difference in the world around us.

May God’s peace and blessings be with you always.

History
The school was founded in May 1950 and the care of the students entrusted to the Congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph. Our school motto is ‘peace’. This Gospel value forms the basis of our interaction with others. We focus on invitation, welcome, sharing our stories and a sense of belonging. The school is proud of its safe, happy and welcoming learning environment. The liturgical, Sacramental and prayer life of the school is strongly supported by the parish priest and the school is noted for its community service and social justice outreach.
